Strategic Insights began as a computer consulting firm specializing in large data warehouse projects.  Many data warehouses in the early 1990's were composed from multi-sourced data simply lumped together hoping that useful information could be gleaned from the result.  Very little effort was made to clean the data or to enrich the data.  The data warehouse users were usually disappointed with the quality of information that resulted. 

It became obvious that the difficulty with data warehouse projects was the time and effort required to actually integrate data to form a consistent information set.  Implementing a data cleansing effort to improve the data quality in the warehouse became a very expensive effort.  In most cases, the expensive components of a data warehouse project were the transformations developed to cleanse and integrate the source data into a coherent set of information.

We took up the challenge and endeavored toward a more cost effective information building methodology.  Little did we realize that we would expose a data-coupling problem that retards data integration and data cleansing.  Once this problem was exposed, we created simple, yet novel processes to nullify its effects.  Today, we are promoting data stewardship and the use of Tandem Primary Keys ^tm, a patented process for eliminating the data-coupling problem, thus enabling efficient and effective information building.
